Antony Cotton was born 5th August, 1975 in Bath. He is an English actor who plays Sean Tully in Coronation Street. He became quite well known in 1999 when he portrayed Alexander in Channel 4's Queer As Folk. He has also appeared in The Bill and Absolutely Fabulous. His mother is actress Enid Dunn who has appeared in the Street several times herself. Cotton made his film debut opposite Daniel Craig and Derek Jacobi in the 1998 film Love Is the Devil: Study for a Portrait of Francis Bacon. He also appeared in the 1998 film The Wisdom of Crocodiles.

He also appeared in the 1998 film The Wisdom of Crocodiles. In 2002, he appeared as Guy La Trousse in the BBC comedy series Having it Off - which he co-wrote with former Street actress Sarah Moffett. On stage Cotton has appeared in several shows at the Oldham Coliseum. He appeared in The Fifteen Streets and The Hobbit at Manchester's Palace Theatre and Opera House. The part of Flynn was written for him by his friend Jonathan Harvey in the original version of the West End musical Closer to Heaven, a collaboration between Harvey and Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe of Pet Shop Boys.. In 2005, Cotton won the Most Popular Newcomer category at the National Television Awards for his role in Coronation Street. Cotton also won the 2005 Inside Soap Awards for Best Newcomer and Funniest Performance. In 2006 he won (again) the award for Funniest Performance. At the 2007 British Soap Awards, Cotton was awarded the Best Actor award, which was voted for by the public. Also in 2007 he won Best Actor at the Inside Soap Awards, again voted for by the public. In total he has won seven awards for his character Sean.
