Archelons are big, prehistoric turtles found only in the valley of Eodon. These turtles can be a danger due to their sheer size. However, they are easily distracted if offered some food, which takes less effort to acquire than hunting down their prey. Should they decide to have a snack anyway, they are surprisingly fast. Riding on the backs of these giant sea turtles was one method the Avatar's group could use to bypass a Tyrannosaurus in Savage Empire.

| - Archelon. Order Chelonia, Suborder Cryptodira, Family Protostegidae. Modern readers would doubtless prefer to call it a "big turtle." Dating to the late Cretaceous period , the Archelon is a sea turtle of preposterous size, growing to some 12 feet in length. The varieties I have seen in the Valley of Eodon have been freshwater variants who are accustomed to the presence of humans and will often forebear attacking humans if thrown a quantity of food.
