  • Humanites are a race of artificial beings common in Metropolis. Humanites are infertile and produced by biocrafting, using vats and machines. they are made by growing artificial tissue - however, mechanical devices seem to be involved and integrated into the unit, making it a sort of cyborg. Although made subservient to humans, the Humanites are given a sort of artificial personality by copying brain engrams from a donor into the artificial brain to simulate human-like behavioural patterns. This process is very similiar to how Angel armsouls are created, and later imprinted with the personality of the unit's pilot. Humanites can be made extremely resistant to many environmental sources of human lethality and can thus be used for hard menial labor and even can even operate in irradiated sections of the wasteland. They are also used for a variety of other purposes that require loyalty or obedience, from secretary to spy to sex worker. After the Mugen Bomb was detonated on the planet at the end of the Psion War, few male children were born. Humanites were constructed to obtain semen from fertile males to distribute to females in order to ensure the planetary population. Later on, EVA used Humanites with heavy armor and weapon systems (who may or may not have had humanoid bodies inside their armor) as the AutoSuits. The AutoSuits did not each have an individual personality encoded into their soul - instead, the generation I AutoSuits used a simple operating program called Series, generation II used an improved program named NAOMI, generation III used copies of Angelita and generation IV used a collective impersonation of the EVA mainframe computer of the Valiant Army.
