The station once boasted a passing loop and second platform that could accommodate long excursion trains. Many Edwardian families from London came to Bricket Wood to enjoy the fresh air, woodland and two large funfairs which once stood nearby. The station building at Bricket Wood, long disused, is now the only surviving original building on the line. In November 2007 responsibility for the branch line, including Bricket Wood, passed from Silverlink trains to Govia London Midland trains.
