A Swordbearer is a Hive Knight major that appears in certain phases of the raid Crota's End. It has a distinct orange appearance and is always armed with a sword. Swordbearers will regenerate their health if not subjected to sustained fire. When the Swordbearer is killed, the sword will drop to the ground and can be picked up by a Guardian.

Swordbearers will regenerate their health if not subjected to sustained fire. When the Swordbearer is killed, the sword will drop to the ground and can be picked up by a Guardian.
- The Swordbearer is a knight in service to a Gryphonheart monarch, tasked with guarding the Gryphonheart blade. As such, this was one of the highest honors achievable for a knight. Sir Kentaine was the Swordbearer for both King Nicolas Gryphonheart and his daughter, Queen Catherine. He was granted this position after single-handedly saving King Nicolas from an ambush. After Kentaine and the Sword were freed from Mastero's prison, Kentaine renounced his title so that he could live the rest of his life in peace with his wife Desette.

- The Swordbearer is a knight in service to a Gryphonheart monarch, tasked with guarding the Gryphonheart blade. As such, this was one of the highest honors achievable for a knight. Sir Kentaine was the Swordbearer for both King Nicolas Gryphonheart and his daughter, Queen Catherine. He was granted this position after single-handedly saving King Nicolas from an ambush. After Kentaine and the Sword were freed from Mastero's prison, Kentaine renounced his title so that he could live the rest of his life in peace with his wife Desette. Lysander became the new Swordbearer for a short time, until he pulled the Sword from its scabbard and realized he was of Gryphonheart blood. It is unknown who became King Lysander's Swordbearer, as his squire, Milton, instead became the seneschal.
