| - Chris Trickle' (March 30, 1972 - March 26, 1998) was a NASCAR driver from Las Vegas, NV. He attempted two Craftsman Truck Series events in his career, both in 1996 and failing to qualify both times. He did receive points for his effort and finished 128th in CTS points. In one of the most mysterious deaths in history, Chris Trickle in February 1997, was driving to a friend's house to play tennis, and while on an empty overpass, a car drove beside Trickle's and gunshots flew, shattering the window and one bullet piercing Trickle's forehead. As Chris fell unconscious, the car hit the overpass wall and stopped. About 35 minutes later, an unconscious Trickle was discovered by a passing car whose driver saw the car wreck and phoned 9-1-1. The driver reported to the police that Trickle was breathing but unconscious. Trickle's family upon hearing the news, put Chris on life-support as they tried to fundraise money in hopes of keeping Chris alive. After 409 days of being in a coma in March 1998, Trickle died of cardiac arrest as a result of the bullet wound in his head. At the time of the shooting, Trickle was working out a Cup series deal with legendary car owner Jack Roush who knew Chris' uncle Dick Trickle pretty well. The gunman that shot the fatal bullet, was never arrested, caught nor has been found leaving the death to being one of the most mysterious events in world history. His replacement in NASCAR was a young man named Kurt Busch who was in preschool with Chris, and whose family were close friends with the Trickles.
