  • After a series of jinxes, Hal Jordan suspects that Sinestro may be behind it and abruptly ends a date with Carol in order to investigate it. Traveling to the prison they set up for Sinestro, Green Lantern finds that Sinestro is gone and that the device that kept him there is no longer working. Sinestro has returned to Qward where there he is trying to win the most evil citizen of the planet award by eliminating the Green Lantern. Tricking Hal into traveling to a world where everything is yellow, Green Lantern is forced to use his bare hands and wit in order to get away from a the dominant species of the planet, yellow barbarians who want nothing more but to smash Green Lantern. However, Hal manages to escape thanks in part to Sinestro: Whenever Sinestro and the Qwardians viewed Green Lantern's fate on their monitor, the area would be bathed with purple radiation, negating the effect of the yellow world. This would allow Green Lantern to use his power ring to escape and transport himself to Qward. There he busts up the Qwardian operation and places Sinestro back in his prison, this time making sure the device that keeps him there will not fail. Hal then returns home where he patches things up with Carol.
