The Dutiful Daughter was a popular Noh theater of Toshi no Naishou. It was named after one of the city's most popular ghost stories, of a daughter of an elderly farmer, who, after her father's death, died herself. Feeling her life had had no purpose, her spirit lost the way to the afterlife. Originally it was a modest establishment sponsored by a retired Crane master actor to a large respected theater. In the late 12th century its owner was Kakita Jottei.
