  • Tommy Cooper, Jr., or Young Tommy, was among Grantville's undesirable and low-income residents. After the Ring of Fire, Tommy fell in with the 250 Club crowd. Being a notorious drunk and as a result he was fired from his job and, being raised a Baptist, was thrown out of his respective congregation. He was also a former friend of Marvin Tipton, who became a police officer, which officially ended their friendship. Young Tommy and his brother G.C. tried to cheat Jost Neubert by selling a tractor that was supposed to run on less fuel, but Fred Genucci saw through this and forced the Cooper's to repay Jost. Adding insult, Tommy secretly stole his brother's share of the money. A despicable act that he previously done several times before from stealing his brother and father. One night at the 250 Club, Tommy was in a card game with Ape and Monkey Hart, and Freddie Congden. Tommy was drunk and flirtatious, finally offending Wilda Bates which led to an argument with Ape after an agitated Tommy was backtalked by Wilda. Later Tommy escorted his sister in-law Connie to their home. However, a still drunk Tommy attempted to rape Connie at Happy Hills. She stabbed him to death in self-defense. Connie told G.C., and G.C. took steps to protect Connie. He tried to cut off Tommy's head and stole his gun to make it look like he was killed by someone else, and then moved the body to Fred Genucci's front lawn, where it was found the next morning. Tommy's death was investigated by Officers Jurgen Neubert and Marvin Tipton. They eventually learned what happened. However, acted with mercy culprits. Connie had already been laid-off from her job and G.C. was instead sentenced to a work crew. Young Tommy's parents grieved their son's death despite his attempt to rape his sister in-law which led to his demise, whom the Cooper's did not forgave Connie for killing their son and built their anger on her extended family.
