The Octagon (八邊形屋; Tsuppyonwara yaku) is the headquarters of the Republic of Surea's Department of War, located in Fusoyu City, Fuzusaki. As a symbol of the Surean military, "the Octagon" is often used metonymically to refer to the Department of War rather than the building itself. The building was dedicated on June 28, 1983, after ground was broken for construction on May 21, 1980. General Gaenaga provided the major motive power behind the project; Colonel Honnaga was responsible for overseeing the project for the Army.

The Octagon is the world's second largest office building by floor area, with about 600,000 m2, of which 400,000 m2 are used as offices. Approximately 20,000 military and civilian employees and about 2,600 non-defense support personnel work in the Octagon. It has eight sides, eight floors above ground (plus two basement levels), and four ring corridors per floor with a total of 40.2 km of corridors. The middle of the building is cone shape. From above, the Octagon looks like a Bagua arrangement It is build at the base of Takayu Mountain. Rumors said that Takayu Mountain is being transformed into a secret military lab, similar to US's Area 51. However, no solid evidence are found to prove the statement.
