The St James estate in Paisley is made up of the Shortroods and Cockston housing estates which were built in the 1960s. Cockston was largely demolished in the early 21st century and remains an area of wasteland with the exception of a few streets of terraced housing. Shortroods is a more vibrant and dense community with its maisonette complexes and good access to Paisley Town Centre.
