Synopsis
  • As the JSA members find themselves in the middle of a war in Extant's new universe, they find their powers backfire against them. Mister Terrific notices that the winds shift chaotically. He postulates that without order in this world from Dove, that the basic laws of the universe don't apply. He believes complex systems rely on building blocks and those no longer exist in Extant's time. Inside the Amulet of Anubis, Doctor Fate explains to the confused JSAers that he brought them to his amulet to save their lives from Extant. Courtney Whitmore and Hawkgirl giggle that Hector sounds different whenever he wears his Helmet. They all agree it will be impossible to attack Extant as long as he's omniscient; he would see any attack coming and stop it before it happens. They agree to talk with Mordru, who's been imprisoned in the Amulet, as a sorcerer of Chaos. Inside the prison, Fate finds Mordru. Mordru refuses to talk to Fate with his helmut on, he wants to speak to the real Hector. Hector agrees and removes his helmet. Mordru walks around Hector asking if his teammates know he's not completely in control of the Fate vestments. Mordru knows the powers he channels are overwhelming him. Hector says that's enough and he wants to know how to defeat Extant. Mordru reveals Hourman is the key, as he's kept a shard of the Worlogog for himself. Without the Worlogog being complete, they can still find a backdoor through chaos to attack Extant. He also tells them that Dove is still alive and she would bring balance to his chaoes. As Hector leaves, Mordru tells him he'll kill him when he escapes, and that he WILL escape. Meanwhile, the other JSA squad infiltrates Extant's castle and find the Mobius Chair. When Metron touches chair he is knocked out by an electric booby trap. Hourman, Fate, Sentinel, Wonder Woman threaten Extant who suddenly is not able to see their future due to the chaos created by Hourman's shard. Elsewhere, Sand and Mr. Terrific find Dove being held captive and free her.
