- A stone with a mysterious lifeforce
- The Life Stone was once one crystal, when Vobio Faakil created it. But when he died, it split into four parts. If the four parts were reassembled, Vobio Faakil would rise again, but in spirit form, until he found a body to live in. His spiritual form would be able to possess things like dirt, trees, dead bodies, robots, etc. But once in a new body, he was stuck in it until death. Once the four parts of the Life stone were reassembled, they were destroyed and could not be used again. But this is all legend, of course.
- A Life Stone is an integral part of the Memory Chamber in Serenia and helps sustain it. Without it, the Memory Chamber would collapse and wither (as seen in Myst IV: Revelation's ending). Achenar steals the Life Stone on Serenia to stop the Memory Chamber from working, just long enough to thwart Sirrus's plans to take over Yeesha's body. However, he does not do so in time and the chamber starts to collapse while The Stranger reassembles Yeesha's memories. Achenar sacrifices himself by placing the Life Stone on the core of the Memory Chamber itself, releasing deadly toxins but stopping the collapse.
