| - Tyson pulled Honedge out of the ground at Plutocom Castle, thinking it to be a regular sword. Realizing it was a Pokemon, Tyson captured it. It slowly, but surely, evolved into Doublade, and when he defeated the Gladius City Gym, it evolved into an Aegislash.
- Tyson obtained Helioptile when he traded his Ralts to Jade. For months he has been trying to get it to evolve, but Helioptile is one of the most hyper Pokemon he has ever met.
- Tyson was given his Croagunk when it was left in the Pokemon Center by an unfaithful trainer. He trained Croagunk, who developed a deep attachment to him, and eventually evolved into Toxicroak.
- Tyson captured Gyarados at Triton Lake and instantly formed a tight bond with him.
- Tyson obtained Froakie from the lab of Professor Redwood. After defeating the Minos City Gym, Froakie evolved into Frogadier. Frogadier grew closer to Tyson than Froakie ever had. This improved even more when Frogadier evolved into Greninja.
- Pancham hated Tyson from the get-go. After their first battle, which they won, however Pancham slowly began to warm up to him. However, the little beast was still stubborn and unwilling to cooperate. After receiving his first Rare Candy, however, Pancham suddenly evolved into Pangoro. Fueled with more strength than ever, Tyson and Pangoro became a formidable team.
