Synopsis
  • The Saga of the Spaceknights begins with the assembled Spaceknights paying honor to their fallen comrades after thwarting the invasion of Galador. It is here that the decision is made to pursue the Dire Wraiths wherever they may flee and prevent them from destroying other worlds or once again threatening Galador.
  • Rom washes up on the shores of Cape Hatteras where he is found by a young girl named Talley Lansing and her dog, Teaser. He awakens but has amnesia, not knowing who he is. The girl leads him to a nearby sea cave where he can hide and then heads back home. Meanwhile, Ace O’Connor is developing the photos she took during Rom’s battle with The Jack of Hearts at Project Safeguard . One photo is of Rom banishing the Dire Wraith known as Rachel Sweet revealing the alien at the moment of banishment to Limbo. Talley returns to the sea cave that evening with food. Rom takes her flashlight instead and drains the batteries. At that moment, lights appear heading into the cave. A hydrofoil leads a group of small yachts into the cave to anchor. The small pleasure boats have been seized by a pirate gang led by The Plunderer. Talley explains that these are pirates and Rom sends her to tell her father who will summon the Coast Guard. Though still amnesiac, Rom knows he must do something and goes to hold the pirates in place till help arrives. Rom frees the captives and assaults the gang on the hydrofoil. He is hit by a “Vibra-ray” which knocks him down but doesn’t destroy him. He instinctively summons his Neutralizer and fights back. A duel ensues with The Plunderer and Rom is struck again. The Plunderer is amazed that Rom has not been destroyed and questions what he is. At that moment Rom’s memory returns as the Coast Guard arrives. The freed captives have subdued the remainder of the pirates. The Plunderer seeks to escape in his hydrofoil but Rom tosses him aside to take control of the craft. The craft strikes a submerged reef just as The Plunderer fires at Rom again causing him to miss the Spaceknight but strike his own craft which explodes.
