About: Steelfleece Baldarich   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : 134.155.108.49:8890 associated with source dataset(s)

Both Bloodtear Baldurf and Steelfleece Baldarich appear to have names in honor of the Baldr, the Norse (Viking) god of light, beauty, and innocence. The fact that the Viking Shield drops from both is further evidence of this possible correlation. Baldarich is an older variation of the more common: Baldric, both of which share its origins with Baldr. A further, and probably more likely, possibility is that Baldarich is a variation of baudrick or baldrick. A baldrick is a girdle, or richly ornamented belt, worn pendent from one shoulder across the breast and under the opposite arm.
