She married actor Bert Palmer (who also appeared in the Street) in 1934, who had entertained troops in World War II as part of ENSA, and had three children, Michael, Robert and Jan, none of whom followed their parents into the acting profession. At the time of her death she was still living in Blackpool where she and her husband had lived for many years. Their house was named Longhurst after Lynne's character.
