Toshigokujin, Slaughter Spirits, or Toshigoku Spirits, were the souls of those who died thirsting for blood, revenge, and death. Even when they returned to haunt the mortal world, they only partially existed here, comprehending only a fraction of what they perceived. These maddened spirits continually relived the battles in which they died, marching forth in spirit armies, becoming part of the Legacy of the Forge. A Toshigoku spirit's equipment could no longer be dropped, stolen, or removed. If they were killed, they regenerated somewhere within Toshigoku.
