Beacon Pedestals were a small addition to Renegade Multiplayer games. Placed inside the barracks of both Nod and GDI, the opposing player could put a beacon on the pedestal. A GS-2 beacon, or a Nuclear strike beacon, for GDI and Nod (respectively). If a successful detonation has occurred, then the team which placed and detonated the beacon on the opposing teams pedestal, then they win. Of course, most servers did not enable it ingame, for if you took 2 APC's, filled them up, and tried to place a beacon, you probably would succeed.
