The AN/VLQ-1010 PAVE HOPE system was a self-defence system fitted to larger UNSC vehicles to provide long range protection against RADAR threats. The system works by providing active cancellation, matching the frequency of enemy RADAR signals and cancelling them out with matched frequencies, effectively silencing enemy RADARs. While highly effective against most RADARs, including vehicle, air and missile mounted RADARs, it does have trouble engaging AESA styled RADARs, though when backed up by A.I. support, it can be countered.

  • The AN/VLQ-1010 PAVE HOPE system was a self-defence system fitted to larger UNSC vehicles to provide long range protection against RADAR threats. The system is only fitted to larger vehicles, with higher power capacities, necessary to power the energy-intensive system. To this end, usually tanks, electronic warfare vehicles and larger armoured vehicles see them, but even then, they can only be used for a few minutes before requiring a recharge, though on larger vehicles it can last up to an hour of constant use. It has on board adaptive CPU to adapt to potential countermeasures. The larger AN/SLQ-1011 PAVE FAITH is employed on warships to provide similar capacities, though only limited by the power output of the on board reactors. The system can effectively blind enemy RADARS, removing the ability for RADAR missiles to guide themselves, blind aircraft and disable their ability to discover targets, if only temporarily.
