  • Bolarus IX (also known as Bolarus, Bolius IX, or Bolias) was an M-class planet in the Bolarus system and was the homeworld of the Bolian race. It was a member of the United Federation of Planets. Important sites on Bolarus IX included the Cliffs of Bole and the Bank of Bolias. (DS9: "Invasive Procedures", "Who Mourns for Morn?") Bolarus is located relatively close to the Romulan Neutral Zone, and was one of the theaters of conflict during the Dominion War. (Star Trek: Star Charts) During the 2360s, Bolarus IX shared an uneasy cease-fire with the Moropa. (TNG: "Allegiance") Bolian territory was a hotbed between the Federation and the Dominion during the Dominion War. A front was established by the Sixth Fleet in 2374 to prevent Dominion forces from taking the Bolarus system and outlying colonies. Starfleet developed a new strategy during the war on the Bolian front which was known as the Bolian Operation. (DS9: "Behind the Lines", "The Reckoning", "Penumbra")
  • Bolarus IX (also known as Bolarus, Bolius IX, or Bolias) was the inhabited ninth planet in its star system. This planet was the homeworld of the Bolians, a warp-capable humanoid species, and a Federation member. It was located in the Bolian sector of the Alpha Quadrant. (TNG: "Allegiance" ; DS9: "The Forsaken"; VOY: "Unity", "In the Flesh") The first name Frederick bore a close resemblance to a rather impolite term on the Bolian homeworld. (VOY: "Dreadnought") Curzon Dax and young ensign Benjamin Sisko spent some time on the planet. Once Curzon had to escort a drunk Sisko home from a bar, as Ezri Dax once remembered. (DS9: "Field of Fire") During the 2360s, Bolarus IX shared an uneasy cease-fire with the Moropa. (TNG: "Allegiance" ) Petty officer Zim Brott's wife, co-husband and two children lived on Bolarus while he was serving on Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Field of Fire") This planet was only mentioned in dialogue. In an early draft of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "The Reckoning" , it was Bolarus and the Bolian system, and not Benzar, that had been captured by the Dominion and liberated by the Romulan Star Empire. [1] According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 56 & 66) and the Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography" pp. 14-15; "Dominion War: Strategy and Battles, 2373-75"), Bolarus IX was located in the Bolarus system. This system was located in the Bolarus sector, a region of space in the Beta Quadrant. The primary was a Class B star. This system was threated by the Dominion from an occupied Benzar from 2374 to 2375.
