| - Kotraen (called Lord Kotraen by his subjects) was a notable leader of Andorja for many years. He rose to prominence as an intelligent and successful strategist and eventually rose to power. During his reign, its borders expanded to nearly twice their original size. He was known to be a fair and benevolent man, and he was very popular with the people. As he aged, however, he was struck by a wasting disease. Healers seemed to have little effect, and he clung to power only by the sheer respect and love that the people and military alike had for him. As his condition worsened, he placed more and more duties into the hands of his second-in-command, Pysen, and his captain of the guard, Svaldur. He then retreated into the keep and was rarely seen outside of it. A young priest named Særða was summoned from the local monastery to ease his suffering in what were certain to be his final weeks. Pysen took advantage of Kotraen's impending demise, and, eager to make a name for himself in order to later claim leadership, announced he would be leading a major raid into neighboring Sulafir. Kotraen forbade the raid from going forward, but Pysen ignored the order and the vast majority of Andorja's soldiers marched off to war. Andorja was left grossly under-defended when allied enemy forces arrived. The keep and the surrounding town were razed, and Kotraen died defending it.
