The Biocentric Party was declared founded in 3218, bringing together the animal rights and radical environmentalist movements. During the leadership of Henry Erck and later Johann Zald, in the years 3218-3247, the party was dominated by the libertarian and social-liberal factions. The party fought for environmental regulations and animal rights, and supported poverty relief, but otherwise resisted most attempts by other parties to nationalize industries and regulate the economy. Both aforementioned chairmen were elected Presidents of Mordusia and the party came to hold a majority of the seats in the Reichstag.

abstract
  • The Biocentric Party was declared founded in 3218, bringing together the animal rights and radical environmentalist movements. In 3246 the BP lost its parliamentary dominance and the subsequent majority nationalized most of the Mordusian economy. During this "interregnum" chairman Johann Zald stepped down from both his post as chairman of the party and President of Mordusia. Anne Riesch was elected chairman in 3247. She was a front figure of the Radical Socialist Faction, which came to dominate the party, eventually to the point where it became synonymous with the Biocentric Party. The party won a landslide victory in 3248, gaining a strong majority in the Reichstag and dominating all regional governments. In the subsequent years, Mordusia became a de facto one-party state. Under the leadership of Anne Riesch, the party set out to create a "degrowth economy". Banks were nationalized, interest abolished, industry turned over to worker ownership, infrastructure collectively planned and frugality replaced the quest for growth as the guiding principle. A plan for shrinking the population was put in place and childbirth was rationed and licensed. Animal exploitation was abolished and a vegan lifestyle was imposed. The BP and Anne Riesch lost their control over Mordusia in 3266, with the rise of new parties. The party was dissolved in 3275.
