  • __NOWYSIWYG__ The point of a usergroup is to contribute to Avatar Wiki as part of a group in order to greatly add or contribute to one specific facet of the wiki. With this is mind, it's my belief that we have several groups that are no longer required. 1. Avatar Wiki: Pro-Gamers This group hasn't contributed since last year - the last edit to the page my any member was the 22nd of December, 2012. By looking at the history of the page they use to order which pages will be fixed, and by whom, it's obvious to see that only one member is actually still doing group work. This group is no longer needed, as quite frankly, it isn't working as a group. Unless they can get new members and new edits in, I believe it doesn't have a place on the wiki. 2. Avatar Wiki: Transcript Team While we are getting new transcripts coming in due to the new episodes, this group isn't doing any group work. There are two new member requests which haven't been addressed (the oldest being from February this year), and the last edit to that page was by a member in November of last year. At least two members are completely inactive, and only Lostris and PSU seem to be contributing to the new transcripts. The edit histories of the first six episodes of Book 2: Spirits can be seen here (RS), here (SL), here (CW1), here (CW2), here (P), and here (S), and you can see that with the majority of the transcripts (the major exception being The Sting), it has been users not affiliated with the TT that are making the substantive edits. Aside from several qualitative edits by Lady Lostris, the members of the Transcript Team have not been focussing or greatly contributing to the transcripts. As so many other users are editing them, unless they join the group, I don't believe this group is needed. Thoughts, comments, arguments? FruipyLoops File:Toph-DoBS-2.gif 02:06, October 15, 2013 (UTC) I am opposed of the deletion of both groups. 1. * The Pro-Gamers are still active. They don't edit the main page of the group, but the edit a side page, where the last edit has been October 5, 2013. And even if they wouldn't have edited that page, Krazykid is still very much active on the wiki. 2. * If two members of the Transcript Team are still active, that means the team is. Whether or not a home page gets updates is irrelevant. The goal of usergroups is to gather support to fix a certain area that is still lacking. By doing so, it is also pointed out to others that it is still lacking, and the TT is also fulfilling that job. I see no reason why a group should be deleted just because there are more other users working on the transcripts than there are TT members. That's just the natural way of things, as there are always more third parties editing than actual group members? (And minor factual correction: The Southern Lights is the only episode for which I did not do most of the dialogue addition. Yes, that's not the tedious scene elaboration, but that is a work that easily takes up on hour to type it all out. As for PSU, he also checked nearly every transcript for spelling and whatnot, so even though that are not the big edits as scene elaboration or dialogue addition, that is giving the transcripts attention, so I don't see why that should be discounted, just because there are more users making multiple edits to the transcripts as well.) 06:49, October 15, 2013 (UTC) I do understand where you're coming from with the Transcript Team, however I am still strongly for the removal of the Pro-Gamers. Yes, Krazykid is still active and editing. One person. The last time any user from that group made a contribution to that page was LegendaryNinja in early 2012 (May 27, to be exact). One active member does not make a group, and unless either ARG or Legendary Ninja makes an edit (as the two other members are completely wiki-inactive), I don't think this group should stay. A quick glance through ARG's edits show that the last time he edited a game page was in May. LegendaryNinja's was last year some time. This group is not needed, as there is only one person in the group actually editing pages. FruipyLoops File:Toph-DoBS-2.gif 12:45, October 15, 2013 (UTC)
