The Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife was a double-edged knife with a foil grip developed by William E. Fairbairn and Eric A. Sykes and was issued to issued to British Commandos. Commando Stephen Cartwright gave the knife to Ranger Sgt. Nathan Hale when they adventured together during the Liberation of Britain and it saved Hale's life later in the year in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
