Synopsis
| - Edward "Nailbiter" Warren is snipping roses in his backyard as Nicholas Finch reads Eliot Carroll notes on him. Several townsfolk showup in masks with a rope and threaten to hang Nailbiter for what he allegedly did to Hank.
Outside the Murder Store, Raleigh Woods is furious that Hank was hung from his store. Alice says good riddance for him harassing her earlier. A deputy runs up to Sheriff Crane and tells her what the folks are doing at Nailbiter's estate.
When Crane and Finch pull up to see Nailbiter being hung, they ram the tree with the police car to save his life. They take Nailbiter into custody to the station to protect him.
At the station, Nailbiter laments about being an outcast and that he is now retired. He says he'd never hurt one of his fellow Buckaroo townfolk. Morty walks up from the morgue to tell them he's completed his exam. As he talks, the lights flicker on and off due to electrical issues. He tells them the burnt body is Book Burner's. They are befuddled as to how his body could have ended up in Carroll's hotel room. As the lights flicker, a masked man with a knife in a ghost outfit creeps unseen closer and closer to them. Morty then tells them that Hank died of stab wounds and his fingers were ripped off with pliers, which doesn't match up with Nailbiter's usual approach. As the lights flicker again, the white ghost man attempts to stab Morty but he is pushed out of the way in time by Finch. When Crane gives chase, the man disappears mysteriously.
At the Serial Killer Graveyard, Finch explains the white outfit was a man dressed up to look like the Y2K killer, a man who went around attempting to kill as many people as possible on the year shift.
