After her competitive career ended, Sherman became a skating judge at both the United States and World levels. She married William Thayer Tutt, who became instrumental in relocating the U.S. Figure Skating headquarters and the World Figure Skating Museum and World Figure Skating Hall of Fame to Colorado Springs in 1979. She was inducted into the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1991.
