Selected by the Hartford Whalers 110th overall in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft, Millar has also played for the Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, and Toronto Maple Leafs. He playd junior for the Brantford Alexanders and the Hamilton Steelhawks, scoring 66 goals for the Steelhawks in 1984-85. In 1985-86 he joined the Canadian National Team for a season. Millar turned pro in 1986-87 and then spent the next five seasons split between the NHL and the minor pros. He got into 78 games and scored 18 goals and 18 assists with 4 different NHL teams.
