Rice Paddies are low marshes filled with water in tropical climates. The farmers push rice roots deep into the mud and let the rice grow in the wet conditions over a period of time until they are ready to be harvested. Rice Paddies are common because they are simple (yet strenuous) to maintain and can be done anywhere if the climate is right.
