The Angkor Wat is a temple at Angkor, Cambodia. The Angkor Wat was built for King Suryavarman II of the Khmer Empire in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city — as well as his final resting place. It is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu and is decorated with mixed Southeast Asian and Indian art. It is now a popular tourist destination.
