  • The Kirlawan Democracy Front was a political group in Kirlawa from 1876 to 2041, advocating the union of all Kirlawan peoples under one democratic banner and the destruction of monarchist and feudalist systems in Kirlawa. The Front was formed on January 6th, 1876, at a meeting in Taphs, Republic of Uwakah. The group started out as a strongly Marxist group, with famous Kirlawan communist George Rarton an early member of the Executive Council. This started to cause alienation, however, and between 1880 and 1904 the group was hurt by constant infighting which kept it small. However, Paul Broadbent and his followers seized control in early 1905 and pushed out the Marxist fringe who went on to form Socialist People's Front for Kirlawan Democracy. The group gained influence throughout the first half of the 20th century, and in the 1940s became militarised as the struggle in Dirlana between republican and feudalist supporters started. The group sponsored the Kirla Unionist Accord in 1953 which formed the United Republic of Uwakah and Dirlana. In the late 60s formed the Kirlawan Democracy Party, which achieved several electoral successes in the 70s and 80s before being absorbed into the Kirlawan Republican Alliance in 1994. The group was split over the 1998 Greater Kirlawa Confederacy Treaty which brought in the First Kirlawan Confederacy. Many party members were in opposition to the idea of a Greater Kirlawa and four of the fifteen executive councillors resigned their posts to found the Nationalist Pressure Group for Real Kirlawa. The group ended up narrowly supporting after the departure of a number of members. During the 21st century, support for the group dwindled as in-fighting on supposed KRA bias increased in volume drastically. The group spoke in favour of the Second Kirlawan Confederacy but in-fighting could not allow the group to continue and in 2041 the Executive Council voted to dissolve itself.
