  • Pod People is a crew that sails the Cobalt Ocean. The crew currently flies the flag of Stalkers.
  • Pod people är en primitiv främmande ras från planeten PJ2-445.
  • Pod People are a race of beings involved with beings from the Fifth Dimension.
  • The Pod People are an unnamed alien race that appears in the 1956 movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers and its numerous remakes. Although their backstories and forms vary between movies, it is generally assumed that they are fleeing their dying homeworld and seek to control and dominate Earth and render the native Humans extinct.
  • Not to be confused with People Jars, which involves Jar People, or Invasion of the Body Snatchers, which features pod people, unlike this movie. A little boy named Tommy who has an extensive array of pets he likes to call "specimens" finds an alien egg to hatch, somewhat like Horton. When it hatches, Tommy names the creature--who manages to use his snout to suck up peanuts and warp time and space with his fingers--Trumpy. Unfortunately, Trumpy's mom is found by poachers and goes on a killing spree in response. To add to the terror, a group of unappealing young people takes a break from recording nightmarish "pop" music to travel by RV up to the scene of the alien foothold. When one of their members is killed by the alien, they are drawn into the hunt for the culprit.
  • Still, the inhabitants remained curious of SG-1, and their rudimentary ways did not lend themselves to hostility. In fact, they were perfectly willing to let the team help when things began to fall apart. The creatures are concealed by the thick, paint-like material they adorn over their entire body. An internal organ in the chest was unidentifiable by Dr. Fraiser, but she suspected it was super-sensitive to subtle changes in sound. An ultrasound on one of the creatures sent it into a panic.

When one of their members is killed by the alien, they are drawn into the hunt for the culprit. The film is as much of a mess behind the scenes as it is on-screen. Los Nuevos Extraterrestres began its life as a low-budget horror film. Then, after the initial script had been written, the producers demanded the addition of the subplot about the little kid adopting the alien, in a blatant attempt to cash in on the success of ET the Extraterrestrial. It was filmed in Spanish and French. For the US release is was (badly) dubbed into English and retitled The Unearthling. Then, when the copyright expired, the distributor Film Ventures International purchased the film, slapped the credits from completely different films onto the beginning and end, and changed the name to PodPeople. You can check out The Cinema Snob's review of the film, this time under the title Extra-Terrestrial Visitors. For the Mystery Science Theater 3000 version, please go to the episode recap page.

When the plant life on PJ2-445 was disturbed by the crash of a U.A.V., the damage to the plant changed the pitch across the area for a radius of at least six miles, "injuring" the humanoid creatures, forcing many to go unconscious. Because of a thick-coated paint over their bodies and their distinctly inhuman internal anatomy, SG-1 was unable to determine whether or not they had a pulse or, for that matter, a heartbeat. After installing sound technology with the proper audible modulation via the original audio file, the plants and the humanoids, in a symbiotic unison, returned to normal. (SG1: "One False Step")
