Sirak Sazen was born on a trade ship emigrating his parents from Iridonia to Coruscant in 67 ABY. His father, Cosh Sazen, found work in a Coruscanti factory creating pieces for cargo ships. A year after his birth, Sirak's mother had another child. This one a girl, named Kel. As the two grew up, Sirak and his sister spent most of their time playing in their father's factory. This is where Sirak began his fascination with machinery. He would always build and tinker with scrap metal parts.

Useless to anyone, he was left for dead on the planet Byss. On Byss, he was discovered by a Dark Jedi organization known as the Dark Brotherhood. The dark Jedi trained him so that he could handle his newly discovered Force Sensitivity. They played off his memory loss and converted him to the dark side. His new dark Jedi alter-ego was called Rellik.
