Paraoctos are enemies from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. They are identical to Octoroks, with the exception of a pair of small wings on their backs. Paraoctos cannot actually fly, but they use their wings to leap large distances when Link swings his sword at them. To kill them, Link must anticipate where they will land from their jumps and hit them as they land. He can also walk towards them with his sword already drawn; Paraoctos retreat from sword swings, not the sword itself. They can also spit rocks like regular Octoroks.
