North Pasadena is a planet located in the region of space known as The Triangle, and currently belongs to the Imperial Klingon States. When the IKS took control of North Pasadena, they also acquired a research station located on planet's surface. The unfortunate scientists working at the station found themselves with new masters, the Klingons. The IKS feared a reprisal from Starfleet, but only later discovered that the scientists had fled the Federation after conducting genetic experiments that were not approved by the UFP Science Council. The scientists had eventually settled on North Pasadena with the intention of continuing their experiments without the constraint of Federation morals.

As North Pasadena has a small population and no industry or agriculture, most supplies need to be imported. The tariffs on the planet are low in comparison to other planets in the IKS.
