In 2410, Taino and her sister ship USS Onondaga responded to a distress signal from USS Bajor, which had been disabled by the Borg in the Adaris system. However, the two vessels and a Clan Inogra hunting party were still 28 hours out when Bajor was instead rescued by Vaadwaur naval forces under Overseer Harn. (Bait and Switch: "A Voice in the Wilderness, Part III") Taino appears to be named for Earth's Taíno people.
