Darcy Verot (born July 13, 1976 in Radville, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian ice hockey forward currently playing for Vityaz Chekhov of the Kontinental Hockey League. Verot was originally signed as a free agent in 2000 by the Pittsburgh Penguins, but never made the parent team. He was later signed by the Calgary Flames, but once again was unable to make the parent team and spent his time in the minors. Verot finally broke into an NHL roster when he was signed by the Washington Capitals and played 37 games during the 2003–04 NHL season. Verot led all players in penalty minutes for the last half of the season. A strike/lock-out before the next season ended his window of opportunity to continue in the NHL.
