PageMaker 1.0 was introduced by the Aldus Corporation. A key programmer for PageMaker was Paul Brainerd. It was designed to be a killer app for the Macintosh and it's accompanying LaserWriter. PageMaker 1.0 included all the basic elements needed to lay out pages, included but not limited to drag and drop positioning of page elements, drawing tools, importing files (including EPS files) from other applications and the ability to print with WYSIWYG accuracy.
