The Disc Jockey presented a late-night programme on local radio that was listened to in the households of Blanche Hunt and Ernie and Emily Bishop. The latter were using its time-check to set their clock whereas Blanche was up late, anxiously waiting the return of daughter Deirdre from a night out with Rita Littlewood. The DJ announced a record request from three women for their old-rig husbands while ironically, Rita and Deirdre had been chatted up by two such riggers Stuart Bellshaw and Maurice Gordon.
