The Edmonton Vics were hurriedly organized in 1943-44 as a senior team in Edmonton, Alberta. In January 1944, the Canadian military had banned its teams from competing in the Allan Cup playoffs. Since the only senior league in Alberta was the Alberta Inter-Services League (an all military league), the province would have had no entry into the Allan Cup playoffs. The Vics played some exhibition games before losing the quarter final in the 1943-44 Western Canada Allan Cup Playoffs.
