The New Empire of the Hand was Trivas' collection of planets based off of Nirauan. He hoped to rebuild Thrawn's Empire of the Hand, but was unable to persuade enough of the old planets to leave the Chiss Ascendancy. He maintained a small force on several planets until attacked by Jorell's Nulvarl Empire. The resulting conflict saw the New Empire of the Hand merge with the Nulvarl Empire and several other planets to form the Nymean Ascendancy.
