George had the distinction of being the first actor to appear in the role of Father Francis Mulcahy in the pilot episode of the CBS-TV series M*A*S*H, but was replaced by William Christopher two episodes later. Born in raised in Worcester, MA, George currently resides out on Martha's Vineyard (Wampanoag: Noepe) which is south of Cape Cod.
