The Red Wind is a bar in Los Angeles. LAPD detective Harry Bosch and medical examiner Teresa Corazón planned to meet at the bar on 26 December 1992 to discuss the autopsy results on Juan Doe #67, but changed the location of their meeting to Gorky's when they found too many reporters at the Red Wind. When Los Angeles Times reporter Jack McEvoy was laid off in May of 2009, his ex-wife asked if he intended to visit the bar. McEvoy told her that he no longer frequented the Red Wind.

- Red Wind was an EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate in service with the Imperial Navy. The starship first arrived to save a TIE Prototype Facility that was being destroyed by Wedge Antilles in a lone Y-Wing. She attempted to destroy the Crescent group of Corellian Corvettes and stop the evacuation of Yavin 4. Keyan Farlander repelled the marauding squadrons of TIE/sa bombers until Crescent made their way to hyperspace. Red Wind reappeared after Operation Grain Snatch to stop three Rebel Alliance convoys while they were looking for a place to set up a new base of operations. However, Red Squadron was once again able to repel its squadrons and the convoys were able to make their escape.

Finally, Red Wind was reported to be experiencing a malfunction in its engines above Plooriod IV. Stranded there, she was covered by an array of mines while being repaired by the crew of the BFF-1 bulk freighter Ramit. The corvette crews of the Alliance decided to launch a retaliatory assault for the atrocities committed by the frigate and her notorious commander. During the attack, Farlander cleared her defenses while three groups of corvettes, Striker, Hammer, and Arrow, assaulted the frigate until it was destroyed.
