Ermelian, Baroness of Kennan (uhr-MEHL-ee-ahn of KEN-ahn), born Ermelian of Aminar (AH-mihn-ahr), was the betrothed of Cleon of Kennan and is presumably his wife by around the year 460 H.E.. Cleon mentions that she is nice, pretty, and kind, but he would rather have Kel. Ermelian was also an heiress with a large dowry, which contributed greatly to the marriage to Cleon, as they were impoverished—having suffered flooding and loss of crops. Ermelian's mother and Cleon's mother were friends and had arranged the marriage. Ermelian must have been wealthy enough to not balk at marrying into a poorer family.

She has never made an appearance in any of the novels, but was mentioned quite a few times in both Squire and Lady Knight.
