- The Super Game Boy can add some limited colors to Game Boy games, and games can take advantage of the Super Game Boy to either display a unique border around the playing field or to provide a specific color scheme for the game. Games could also take advantage of the Super Game Boy to allow two players to play on one GB cartridge using two SNES controllers. There are also games that use the Super Game Boy and SNES to make better sound and music. And there are even some games that included a special Super Game Boy version of the game which could only be played on the Super Game Boy. Space Invaders for Game Boy is an example of that. It includes a whole separate 16-bit version of the game. Game Boy games that took advantage of the Super Game Boy are said to be "Super Game Boy Compatible" games. Since the Super Game Boy did not have an extension port, most games can only be played by a single player unless the game explicitly supported two players on the Super Game Boy. Nintendo later released the Super Game Boy 2 exclusively in Japan which does include an extension port and some better color support for games. Another difference with the Super Game Boy compared to the actual Game Boy is that the CPU clock speed is slightly faster (4.295454 MHz, instead of 4.194304 MHz), so the resulting refresh rate is also higher, at around 61.17 Hz instead of 59.73 Hz. Therefore games run slightly faster on a Super Game Boy, although it's barely noticeable. tumblr_ldky81RJSq1qzvs0a.png|A Super Game Boy original boot-up
