Following the outbreak of the Dominion War, a large Federation-Klingon task force entered Cardassian space and destroyed the shipyards, while Dominion forces were occupied at the Second Battle of Deep Space 9. - Torros III was the third planet in its star system, located in Cardassian space. A Dominion shipyard was located on the planet in 2373. At the outbreak of the Dominion War in 2373, a task force comprised of Starfleet and Klingon forces attacked and destroyed the shipyards while Dominion forces were occupied attacking Deep Space 9. Starfleet chose to launch an attack on the shipyards rather than send reinforcements to Deep Space 9, which was lost to the Dominion. However, DS9 personnel were able to establish a minefield at the mouth of the wormhole prior to being forced from the station, which severed the Dominion's supply line from their home territory in the Gamma Quadrant.
