In those days all men bowed before the mighty man, and his priests brought him cruel human-sacrifices. Later rebellion stirred among the men and some refused to follow the cruel orders of the powerful man. The Strife led to the Battle of Palisor in which Men, Dwarves, Orcs and Avari took part. Men fought on both sides and after the battle they sundered into two groups: those who fled the battlefield and wandered westwards were called the Lintador while those who chose to stay in the east were known as the Aravador (Av."Faraway-people") or Aravarod. In the later Ages the Aravador spread in the eastern Lands and even came to the South of Middle-Earth.The Easterlings and Haradrim of the third Age were believed to descend from these tribes.
