| - I've been a gamer for ages, and by now I'm not usually shocked by game announcments, just excited. But today, I was seriously at a loss for words when a new Castlevania video game was announced for Wii. The reason? It's a 3D fighter in the same vein of Soul Calibur and Tekken. Yes, the series known for its surprising adventure elements pulled a Soul Calibur Legends on us and totally altered the gameplay. Though, despite all of this, there is still some classic Castlevania elements to be found within.

For one, the playable characters obviously consists of those found within the video game series, including but not limited to (note: These are the only confirmed ones as of yet) Dracula, Simon Belmont, Alucard, Shanoa, and Maria Renard. Is it safe to assume that characters from the newer DS installments will be included? I'd say so! Next, the MP aspects from the DS and GBA games are also intact. As always, these more powerful attacks will cause the MP to decrease over time, though if you refrain from using them, the gauge will refil, albeit slowly. Castlevania games are known for their music... in some cases. Well, as one could expect, those classic tunes that you (and I) love so much will be found here, though according to Nintendo Power will be remixed. To control the characters you'll use the nunchuck, though to perform special moves you'll make use of the Wii Remote's motion sensing abilities. Finally, players can set traps and even destroy the environments. Enemies in the background will somehow interfere, though it's unknown how. I'm better enemies such as skeletons will throw bones from the background, and other similar instances.
