  • Julien Beckers is a foreign minister for the Belgian government. He is also secretly an agent of Hydra, as his grandfather Vincent was a scientist who worked for the Red Skull. After a team of Hydra agents led by Marcus Scarlotti attacked the United Nations while disguised as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Julien Beckers publicly spoke out against Senator Christian Ward's crusade to take the organization down. Hydra then devised a plan to lure out S.H.I.E.L.D. agents by making them think Scarlotti's team was going to attack Beckers. One team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents fell for the ruse and were massacred at a safehouse in Bruges, but Director Phil Coulson found out about Becker's true loyalties before Lance Hunter and agents Melinda May and Bobbi Morse could arrive in Bruges. Beckers tried to flee the country, but was arrested trying to cross the border.
