Synopsis
  • Asgard has fallen. Taskmaster calls to Norman Osborn to pull him out of the rubble pinning him down but is ignored. He manages to pull himself out before finding Constrictor. Meanwhile, Captain America find Diamondback. This is seen by the two mercenaries, disheartening Constrictor when he hears Taskmaster's supposition that Diamondback is backing the winning team. They both leave on Goblin Gliders. They then see the Avengers defeating Osborn, revealing his face painted green. Taskmaster then yells that it was he who was with Deadpool humiliating him. As both Taskmaster and Constrictor leave the battlefield, the Sentry is overtaken by the Void. Loki reclaims the Norn Stones from the Hood, depowering him and his gang, to give the Avengers a second chance to win. Madame Masque rushes the Hood away from the ruins of Asgard, promising that this isn't over. Back at Camp H.A.M.M.E.R., they magically-empowered villains feel their magic going away. This allows the Avengers Resistance and Shadow Initiative to gain the upper hand. Inside the base, Baron von Bliztschlag is attempting to erase all evidence that could implicate him, when he is confronted by Komodo, holding a gun. Cloud 9 turns up to back her up and surprisingly Hardball. Komodo tires turning to attack the latter, only to be restrained by Cloud 9, giving Hardball the opening to inject a serum to neutralize the S.P.I.N. in her bloodstream, granting her back her powered form. But she still doesn't change her attitude towards him. Cloud 9 reminds her that Hardball has always looked out for her, especially releasing Dragon Man in the Negative Zone and they they were the original Initiative cadets and she shouldn't destroy their friendship. Komodo then relents. Blitzschlag then turns over all the incriminating evidence of all of Osborn's illegal activities, in exchange for house arrest. Outside, the H.A.M.M.E.R. agents surrender, considering that Osborn has been taken down and they weren't comfortable with his decisions. The Resistance then leaps for joy that it's all over. However, Justice notices that Tigra is not so certain, since many other villains are still out there. Justice promises that they will catch them, when those villains screw up. Days later, the Hood has been apprehended. Tigra comes to visit him in the holding facility he is in to punish him for all he has done. But she relents because of something she saw in the hall. She then leaves to let the Hood's wife and daughter enter. At Avengers Tower, the Avengers are celebrating their victory and the overturn of the Superhuman Registration Act. The people are calling the start of a new Heroic Age. However, Justice says that there must be a place where they can teach future heroes. They then meet Tigra and her newborn son William. She explains that she gave birth to him within two months of the transition between Iron Man and Osborn's administrations. She left William in the care of the Cat People who gave her her powers to protect him from Osborn. She promises that she will fight for a better world for her child. Justice suggests that she talk to Cap. Steve Rogers acknowledges that the Initiative was a good idea. He asks that Diamondback help coordinate the Fifty States teams. She asks for a bit of time to think about it. Rogers asks if she heard anything from Constrictor, to which she answers no. In Japan, Taskmaster is being handed a briefcase, while Constrictor is busy staring at two throwing diamonds in his hand. The comic ends by explaining what happened to others: Bengal moved to Sunset Park, Brooklyn, where he opened up a martial arts school; Prodigy was released and honored for his resistance against Osborn. He currently works as a motivational speaker while trying to reunite the Slingers; Trauma has left the Initative. Varying reports state that he is with Dr. Strange or seeking a man named Karl in Pittsfield, MA; Debrii, though no longer a fugitive, remains in Paris, where she is a judge on the TV show "Superpouvoir."; Butterball and Batwing returned to the former's hometown of Morganton, NC, where they set up a team to replace the U-Foes -- they are the only members.
